Anna has been working as a full time artist for the last 15 years. During this period she has exhibited in various galleries throughout the South Island. She is currently based in Wanaka working out of a studio on Golf Course Road.
From 2004 to 2009 Reid studied Fine and Visual Arts in Dunedin. It is here that she was introduced to, and fell in love with printmaking and its various techniques. Her focus is devoted to exploring and experimenting with different mediums, especially combining printmaking with painting.
In 2009 she won the Dunedin Art Awards and the following year won the Aspiring Art Awards –best work under $1000.00 and the Wanaka Art Society Printmaking award.
Anna has been asked to be Guest Artist and Judge at the Otago Art Society, Autumn Festival of Art Awards in Arrowtown and the Ashburton Art Society where she also ran a Printmaking workshop.
“Over the years as a printmaker I have been heavily influenced by Stanley Palmers Printmaking techniques using multiple plates.My greatest inspiration is our country’s ever changing and diverse landscapes It is always my intension to represent an area, yet allow the viewer to question and determine their own conclusion.”
